time and the weather

time and the weather is the collaborative, impulsive, compulsive, tangible, often intangible, bright, dull, energetic, and sometimes really boring design efforts of Sun Park and Shawn Hasto. They have a few plants,
two nifty bicycles, a couple pencils, one invisible cat, and plenty of orange juice. Hello and enjoy! And don’t forget to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables each day. More about us here.

Sun and Shawn both graduated (at the same time) with Honors from the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Shawn had worked as a production artist for years in publishing and print, before he was an apprentice to designer James Victore. After spending 1,386 hours and 207 coffees with James, he started his own studio (with sun).

Shawn has been a freelance production artist for various studios and clients such as Buchanan-Smith, Isaac Mizrahi Style Book, A to A graphics, and h george design. Most of which only lasted 138.3 hours and 27 coffees.

Sun spent her early 20s studying Korean language & literature in Seoul, South Korea, and spent half a year digging potatoes, picking grapes and beans in Canada, and got the idea of being a designer.

Sun has been a freelance designer for various studios and clients such as kate spade, Esopus Magazine, and mame center. She now cooks delicious potatoes, grapes and beans in their office space in Brooklyn.

Sun is one year older than Shawn (who was born halfway through 1982).
